Kirk Allen Sweeney, 46, of Dayton, passed away on January 8, 2017 in Cowanshannock Twp.

He was born on May 20, 1970 to Alex F. and Patricia (Bash) Sweeney in Indiana, PA. He graduated high school in 1988 at Homer Center. Kirk worked in the Parts Dept. for Cleveland Brothers - Indiana. On October 18, 1992 he married Michele Bussard.

Kirk was a member of Dayton Glade Run Presbyterian Church. He was a Former EMT for Citizens Ambulance and a former volunteer firefighter for Homer City VFD.

Kirk is survived by his wife Michele; 6 children - Nicholas, Kaitlyn, Tyler, Shawn, Lucas and Dylan Sweeney, all at home; His Mother - Patricia Sweeney of Homer City; sister - Marty (Scott) Prebish of Homer City; In-Laws - Edward and Ella Mae Bussard of Dayton; Sister-in-Law - Holly (Cory) Baker of Yatesboro; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father - Alex F. Sweeney.

Visitation will be held Thursday, January 12, 2017, 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 pm at Carson/Boyer Funeral Home, Inc, 724 W. Main St. Rural Valley, PA.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 13, 2017, 11:00 am at the Dayton Glade Run Presbyterian Church with Sheila Wadding, officiating.

Interment will take place in the Glade Run Presbyterian Cemetery.
