BETTY MARTHA STEWART

Betty Martha Stewart, 84, of Dayton, passed away on June 4, 2018 at ACMH Hospital.

She was born on February 7, 1934 to Robert Charles and Myrtle (Whitacre) Walker in Dayton. She was a housewife and had worked as a nurse's-aid.

She was a member of the former Rural Valley Presbyterian Church where she had been an elder, Sunday School teacher, and superintendent. She is now a member of NuValley Presbyterian Church. Betty was also a member of the Rural Valley Grange for 72 years, Dayton Pike Extension and the Barnard Friendly Club. She was a leader in the Dayton 4-H Club for many years and served on the Armstrong County Executive Board. Betty enjoyed cooking, baking, doing crafts, flower gardening, sports, and especially loved family gatherings and reunions. She also loved spending time with her husband and cherished her family time.

Betty is survived by her husband of 66 years -Robert William Stewart; two sons - Dennis D. (Dawn) Stewart and Jamie (Ronnette) Stewart, both of Dayton; daughter - Patricia D. Miller of Lima, OH; grandson - Justin (Lindsey) Stewart; three granddaughters - Erin (Mike) Repine, Jessi (Matt) Yuknek, and Alyssa (Frank) Nagy; 5 great grandchildren - Lydia Repine, Kohen Stewart, Evret Stewart, Kanin Nagy and Kinleigh Stewart; step grandson - Jonathon (Laura) Bowser; 2 step great grandchildren - Ezra Bowser and Avery Robinson; sister - Florence (Blaine) Harkleroad of Dayton; and two brothers - Robert (Betty) Walker of St. Marys, PA and Jack (Nancy) Walker of Dayton; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her Parents; son-in-law - Phil Miller; sister-in-law - Glenna Mae Cooper; brother-in-law - Dale Stewart; and nephew - Loran Stewart.

Visitation will be held Thursday June 7, 2018, 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 pm at Carson/Boyer Funeral Home, Inc, 724 W. Main St. Rural Valley, PA.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 8, 2018, 11:00 am at the NuValley Presbyterian Church with Rev. Brenda Barnes officiating.

Burial will take place in the Rural Valley Cemetery.
