George Skamai, 93, of Kittanning (Cowanshannock Twp.) passed away on January 23, 2017 at ACMH Hospital.

He was born on June 12, 1923 to Harry and Helen (Petroska) Skummy in Imperial, PA. George worked in the Boxshop for PPG - Ford City.

He was a member of St. Mary, Mother of God Church, Yatesboro, American Legion - Cosgrove Post and UMWA. George enjoyed gardening, socializing and most of all his family.

George is survived by his wife Anna (Samosky) Skamai; five sons - Robert W. (Peggy) Skamai of Kittanning, Michael F. Skamai of Warren, OH, John "Yutz" Skamai of Kittanning, George J. (Amy) Skamai of Rural Valley and Joseph (Jammie) Skamai of Rural Valley; 14 Grandchildren and 1 Great Granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his Parents; 4 Brothers - John, Andy, and Harry Skummy, and Michael Skully; 5 sisters - Emma Skummy, Ann Krachowitz, Mary Farrell, Millie Gruber, and Louise Samosky.

Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2017, 10:00 am at the St. Mary, Mother of God Church - Yatesboro with Fr. Douglas Dorula and Fr. Efren Ambre, officiating.

Burial will take place in the St. Mary's R.C. Cemetery, Yatesboro.
