M. Elvira Shrock, 88, of Dayton, passed away on February 16, 2017 at Margaret Manor.

She was born on March 24, 1928 to Joseph and Jennie Grace (Bechtel) Powers in the Templeton Area. She graduated Valedictorian from Dayton High School Class of 1946. Margaret worked as a Dairy Farmer/Homemaker. On June 27, 1946, she married Leroy Shrock. He passed away July 28, 2014.

She was a member of Dayton Glade Run Presbyterian Church, where she was a former Treasurer, a member of the Women's Association and taught Sunday School and Bible School..

Elvira is survived by her son - Ronald Shrock of Erie; daughter-in law - E. Gwen Shrock of Dayton; brother - Frank (Connie) Powers of Kittanning; 2 sister-in-laws - Winifred Powers of Export and Joyce Powers of Rural Valley; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and 2 brothers - James (Ed) and Raymond Powers.

Visitation will be held on Sunday February 19, 2017 from 6-9 PM at the Carson/Boyer Funeral Home, Inc, 724 W. Main St. Rural Valley, PA

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM on Monday at Dayton Glade Run Presbyterian Church with Pastor Sheila Wadding officiating. Additional Visitation will be held at the Church 1 hour prior to services.

Burial will take place in the Glade Run Cemetery, Dayton.
