Larry K. Shoop, 67, of Yatesboro, passed away on March 6, 2012 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA.

He was born on February 5, 1945 to Francis and Geneviene (Anderson) Shoop in Rural Valley, PA. Larry worked as a Coal Miner for 26 yrs for R & P and 10 yrs. Consol - 84 Mine.

He was a member of UMWA Local 1197, Life Member NRA, Shannock Valley Sportsman's Club, American Legion Cosgrove Post, Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, Pope and Young Associate Member, Life Member North American Hunting Club and William Penn Association - Rural Valley.

Larry is survived by his wife Dee L. (Schrecengost) Shoop, whom he married Oct. 16, 1965; 2 daughters - Jolene Bures and husband Gary and Noelle Bell and husband Bill, both of Kittanning, PA; 2 grandsons - Cody Metro and Kane Bell; 1 granddaughter - Alisha Crossman; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his Parents; 2 sisters - Faye A. Moore and Frances Donaldson; 2 Brothers - Ronald and Charles Shoop.

Visitation will be held at Carson/Boyer Funeral Home, Inc, 724 Main St. Rural Valley, Pa on Friday March 9, 2012 from 2-4 & 7-9.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM in the funeral home with Pastor Ralph Kilgore officiating.

Burial will take place in the Pleasant Union Cemetery.
