RICHARD P. SCHRECONGOST

Richard P. Schrecongost, 79, of Dayton, (Wayne Twp.) passed away on May 21, 2018 at his residence.

He was born on October 24, 1938 to Woodrow and Frances (Stoops) Schrecongost in Dayton, PA. Richard was an Electrical Engineer for Stone and Webster, Boston.

He was a member St. Michael's Episcopalian Church, Dayton. Richard enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, trapping, storytelling and spending time with his family. He was a Marine Veteran.

Richard is survived by his wife of 60+ years Darlene (Troup) Schrecongost; three sons - Randy (Lisa) Schrecongost of Indiana, Scott (Micky) Schrecongost of Falconer, NY and Robert (Companion Melana) Schrecongost of Dayton, PA; daughter - Lisa "Sam" Hileman of Rural Valley; two sisters - Kay Whitesell and Judy (Ed) Bush, both of Westfield, NY; and 11 grandchildren and 15 Great Grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers - Jerry and Barry Schrecongost.

Visitation will be held Thursday, May 24, 2018, 7 - 9 pm at Carson/Boyer Funeral Home, Inc, 724 W. Main St. Rural Valley, PA.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, May 25, 2018, 11:00 am at the Funeral Home with Pastor Dennis Howard, officiating.

Interment will be private.
