DALE W. SCHRECENGOST

Dale W. Schrecengost, 85 of Kittanning, PA, died Wednesday, June 29, 2011 in ACMH Hospital.

He was born May 21, 1926 in Slippery Rock, PA, Son of the late Sloan and Daisy (Rearic) Schrecengost.

Dale was an Army veteran, having served during WW II. He was a member at Pleasant Union Lutheran Church. He loved to hunt, shoot archery, golf and bowl..

He worked as a Carpenter for Local Union 1233 .

Surviving are his wife Doris J. (Troutman) Schrecengost, whom he married Aug. 21, 1943; 1 Son - F.D. 'Shrec' Schrecengost and wife Julie of Creekside, PA; 2 Daughters - Dee Shoop and husband Larry of Yatesboro, PA and Carol Atherton of Yatesboro, PA; 2Brothers - Donald Schrecengost and wife Louise of Kittanning, and Robert "Bob" Schrecengost and wife Joanne of Greensburg, PA; 5Grandchildren - Jolene Bures, Chance Schrecengost, Noelle Bell, Jason Schrecengost and Jeremiah Houser, 7 Great Grandchildren .

Parents 3 Brothers - Bernard, Lyle and Merle Schrecengost 2 Sisters - Veda Montgomery and Betty Montgomery.

Friends will be received 2-4 and 7-9, Friday, July 1 at the Carson/Boyer Funeral Home, Inc, 724 Main St. Rural Valley, PA.

Services will be held at Carson/Boyer Funeral Home, Inc, Saturday, July 2, 2011 at 11:00 AM with Rev. Larry Krause officiating.

Interment will follow in the Salem (Hills) United Church of Christ Cemetery , Kittanning, PA 16201.
