JODI LYNN (HOWELLS) RYAN

Jodi Lynn (Howells) Ryan, 45, of Fishers, Indiana passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at her home after a four-year battle with cancer. She was born on October 3, 1971 in Kittanning, Pennsylvania.

Jodi married Stephen Ryan on May 18, 1996. She was a 1989 graduate of Shannock Valley High School. Jodi received her BSN from Duquesne University in 1993 and her MSN/CRNP from the University of Pittsburgh. She was a member of Delta Zeta and Sigma Theta Tau Honors Society in Nursing. Jodi also received a Graduate Certificate in Business from Indiana University. She previously worked at UPMC, then moved to St. Louis to begin her career with Eli Lilly, later moving to Indianapolis to finish out her career in 2016. Jodi was a member of St. Louis de Montfort Catholic Church, and was very strong in her faith until the very end. She loved to travel, visiting many countries making new friends everywhere she went. Jodi especially loved her yearly camping trips and Hilton Head trips with her many friends and family. She loved her family and always made them a priority in her life. Jodi was always caring and considerate, never forgot to write a thank-you note, and never missed an opportunity to let people know how much they meant to her. She always set goals for herself, then made them reality.

Jodi is survived by her husband J. Stephen Ryan, daughter Alayna, and son Cole, all of Fishers; brother, Shawn Howells of Yatesboro, PA; mother, Mary Chambers (Samuel) Shirley of Rural Valley, PA; fathers, Kenneth (Lily) Howells of Marion Center, and Leland (Cheryl) Weston of Rural Valley; grandparents, Ethlyn and William Howells of Marion Center; in-laws, Stephen and Shirley Ribich of Monongahela; sister-in-law, Michelle (David) Judy of Irwin; nephews, Joshua Howells and David Judy; and nieces, Ella Howells and Megan Judy. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Rose in 2001 and Robert V. Chambers in 1995.

Family and Friends will be received Saturday, January 21, 2017 from 2-4 &7-9 pm at Carson/Boyer Funeral Home, 724 W. Main Street, Rural Valley, PA. A private Blessing Service will be held on Sunday. Burial will be at St. Mary R.C. Cemetery in Yatesboro.
