ROSALIE MARIE (PASSERINI) ROCCO

Rosalie Marie (Passerini) Rocco, 94 of Rural Valley, found her way to heaven on May 20, 2017 in the Hospice unit at West Penn Hospital, Pittsburgh PA.

She was born July 27, 1922 to Augusto and Filomena (Maffei) Passerini. Rosie dedicated her life to her family, to caring for others and nurturing her children, Larry (Susan) Rocco and Janie Rocco Caruso. Rosie enjoyed spending time with her friends and loved ones and was particularly fond of a game of progressive rum, which she often won. She also adored her time with her dog, Sasha. Rosie was a quiet educator of those around her who learned from the example she set. As she battled illness in her last year she never wavered in her belief and spirit. Rosie's strength, fortitude, and faith uplifted all those who loved her.

She was a member of St. Mary, Mother of God Church, Yatesboro, PA. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband (Donald "Boney" Rocco) and her siblings, Louis Gosetti, Alfonso Passerini, Henry Passerini, and most recently her beloved sister, Delma Rocco. Rosie and her sister Delma married two brothers (Donald and Joseph Rocco). In addition to Larry and Janie, Rosie is survived by her grandchildren, Maria (Alan) Caruso Russell, Mario (Ashley) Rocco, Stacy (Louis "Chip") Sanoba, great grandchildren, Kimberly and Nicole Sanoba, Hannah, Vincent, Christian, Trevor and Emily Russell, brother-in-law Joseph Rocco, sisters-in-laws Mabel Passerini and Ann Passerini, and many loving nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received from 2-4pm and 7-9pm on Friday, May 26, 2017 at the Carson Boyer Funeral Home Inc. (724 W Main St, Rural Valley, PA 16249 (724) 783-7331). Visitation will also be held on Saturday, May 27, 2017 from 9-11am at Saint Mary, Mother of God Church (109 2nd St. Yatesboro PA, 16263) to be followed immediately by a mass of Christian burial at 11am with Fr. Douglas Dorula and Fr. Efren Ambre officiating. Burial will take place at St. Mary Roman Catholic Cemetery in Yatesboro.
