FRED C. RIDENOUR

Fred C. Ridenour, 77 of Rural Valley, (Plumcreek Twp.) died Wednesday, April 20, 2011 in Altmeyers Country Rest Home.

He was born September 16, 1933 in Plumcreek Twp., Son of the late Lawrence F. and Hulda Grace (Graham) Ridenour.

He graduated From Elderton High School in 1953 and was a member of the UMWA Local 1412 and American Legion Cosgrove Post.

He worked as a Tool dresser in the Gas Field, a Caster at Eljer and a Roof Bolter for Keystone Coal Co., along with being a farmer.

He served in Germany during the Korean Conflict. He was in the Signal Corps. with the Army.

Surviving are his wife, Dorothy "Dottie" (Lasher) Ridenour, DOM June 15, 1958; 2 Sons - Mark Ridenour and wife Linda of Chicago, IL and Roger Ridenour and wife Jill of North Pole, AK; 1 Sister - Helen Cessna of St. Augustine, FL; 7 Grandchildren - Michele, Katie, Daniel, Amanda, Jeremy, Matthew and Thomas.

He was Preceded in death by his Parents, 4 Brothers - George Schall, James Altman, Boyd Ridenour and Frank Ridenour, 3 Sisters - Delnora Buckley, Pearl Bofinger and Jean Frailey.

Friends will be received 6-9PM Monday, April 25 at the Carson/Boyer Funeral Home, Inc, 724 Main St. Rural Valley, PA.

Services will be held at the Christian Missionary and Alliance Church, Kittanning, Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Mark Applebee officiating.

Interment will follow in the St. Paul Cemetery, Rural Valley.
