JOHN M. REKEN

John M. Reken, 85 of Home, PA, died Friday, September 23, 2011.

He was born July 10, 1926 in Beyer, PA, Son of the late John and Ann (Ocel) Reken.

He served his country during WW II with the Army. He was also a member of Dayton Sportsmen's Club, Sagamore VFW, William Penn Assoc. and UMWA Local 1619. He enjoyed the outdoors.

He worked as a Farmer and also a Coal miner for 42 years working for the North American Coal Co.

Surviving are his wife, Helen (Beresnyak) Reken, whom he married Jan. 31, 1953 and celebrated 56 years with; 2 Sons - J. Alan Reken and wife Kelly of Smicksburg, PA and David J. Reken and wife Sally of Saratoga, NY; 2 Grandsons - Austin Reken and Gavin Reken; 1 Granddaughter - Allison Reken; Brother, Andy Reken of Dayton, PA; 4 Sisters - Pauline Renosky of Elderton, PA; Helen Petrosky of Sharon, PA; Frances Fye of Sykesville, PA and Olga Marshall of Beyer, PA.

He was preceded in death by Parents, Daughter - Roseann 2 Brothers - Joseph and Michael Reken 3 Sisters - Mary -, Margaret -, and Ann Patuc.

Friends will be received 6-8, Sunday, September 25 at the Carson/Boyer Funeral Home, Inc, 724 Main Street, Rural Valley, PA.

Mass will be held at St. Mary's R.C. Church, Yatesboro, Monday, September 26, 2011 at 11:00 AM with Fr. Daniel L. Blout officiating.

Interment will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Sagamore, PA 16250.
