Alice Reefer, 88, of Rural Valley, passed away on January 2, 2018 at ACMH Hospital.

She was born on April 4, 1929 to Clarence and Carrie (Watterson) Kaufman in Plumcreek Twp. Alice was active on the family farm. She enjoyed quilting, sewing and cooking. She attended St. Paul's Congregational Church, Rural Valley.

Alice is survived by her son - David (Deb) Reefer of Rural Valley; son-in-law - Eugene (Gladys) Smith of Rural Valley; three grandsons - Matthew (Jane) Smith, Josh Reefer, and Dale (Lori) Reefer; granddaughter - Becky Reefer; 4 great-grandsons - Alex Reefer and Charlie, Teddy, and John Smith; and sister-in-law - Ilean (Ray) Fiscus of Dayton.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband - Orian Neal Reefer, whom died 1/22/2001; and a daughter - Edna Susanne Smith.

Visitation will be held Saturday, January 6, 2018, 2 - 3:30 & 7:30 - 9:30 pm at Carson/Boyer Funeral Home, Inc, 724 W. Main St. Rural Valley, PA.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 7, 2018, 3:00 pm at the St. Paul Congregational Church with Pastor Tim Lewis, officiating.

Burial will take place in the Harkleroad Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Congregational Church.
