MAXINE PETERS

Maxine Peters, 93, of Brewster, OH and formerly of Rural Valley, PA died Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at Country Lawn Nursing Home following a period of declining health.

She was born in Armstrong County, PA to the late Samuel and Anna (Cogley) Hill and married Owen C. "Coonie" Peters on April 10, 1937. He died December 21, 1958. She had lived in Rural Valley and Kittanning before moving to Ohio in 2002. She retired from King's Drug Store in Rural Valley following 31 years of service and was a longtime meber of the Rural Valley Methodist Church.

She is survived by a son, Jerry (Peg) Peters of Brewster; grandchildren, Aaron (Natalie) Peters of Strasburg and Nancy (Michael) Casperd of Brewster; and great grandchildren, Rex and Garrett Adams and Rachel Peters; a sister, Larue Scott of Shelocta, PA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her step-father, Joseph Hill; and a brother, Neal Hill.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 2:00 PM at the Carson Boyer Funeral Home, 724 Main Street, Rural Valley, PA. Burial will follow in the Rural Valley Cemetery. Friends may call on Saturday, one hour prior to services.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Rural Valley Methodist Church.
