JOHN D. "JACK" NAGY

John D. "Jack" Nagy, 90, of Rural Valley, passed away on February 26, 2018 at his daughter's residence.

He was born on February 10, 1928 to John and Ann (Sabo) Nagy in Hampton Twp., PA. Jack was self-employed for 60+ years as a CPA, for his firm Nagy and Nagy, CPA's. He worked up until the last few months. He was a member of the AICPA and PICPA Associations. Jack also helped out his father in his younger years running the projector at the Liberty Theater in Rural Valley. He was an Army Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict.

Jack was a member of St. Mary, Mother of God Church, Yatesboro. He was former President and member of the Armstrong Co. Chamber of Commerce, former member of Rural Valley Boro. Council, Lifelong member of Kittanning Elks BPOE #203, American Legion Cosgrove Post, and the Shannock Valley and Kit-Han-Ne Automobile Associations. Jack's hobbies included flying his own plane for over 25 years and golfing up till his illness a few months ago.

John is survived by his wife of 69 years -Eleanor (Schaeffer) Nagy; daughter - Linda (James) Brown of Rural Valley; son - Michael (Jane) Nagy of Templeton; five grandsons - Nathan (Stephanie) Nagy, Frank (Alyssa) Nagy, Jonathan (Tara) Nagy, Mark Brown, and Michael Brown; two granddaughters - Erica Brown and Lindsay (Julie Compton) Brown; three great-grandsons - Noah Smouse, Kaleb Smouse, and Kanin Nagy; and three great-granddaughters - Annabelle Nagy, Cecelia Nagy, and Nina Nagy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter - Sue Ann Nagy; and a brother - William Nagy.

Visitation will be held Thursday, March 1, 2018, 2 - 4 & 6 - 9 pm at Carson/Boyer Funeral Home, Inc, 724 W. Main St. Rural Valley, PA.

Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, March 2, 2018, 11:00 am at the St. Mary, Mother of God Church, Yatesboro, with Fr. Eric J. Dinga and Fr. Douglas Dorula, officiating. Everyone please meet at church.

Burial will take place in the St. Mary's R.C. Cemetery, Yatesboro.
