HELEN (BARNETT) MILLER Helen (Barnett) Miller, 87, of Dayton, Armstrong County, Pennsylvania, passed away on September 28, 2017 at Margaret Manor Personal Care Home. Helen was born June 24, 1930 in West Mahoning Twp., Indiana County Pennsylvania. She is the daughter of John Duff and Muriel May (Barrett) Barnett. Helen graduated from Dayton High School in 1948 and Indiana State Teachers College in Indiana, PA. Helen taught at Deer Lakes Elementary School in Creighton, PA. Helen was a member of Janes United Methodist Church in Creighton, PA. She also attended Smicksburg Lutheran Church and Dayton Glade Run Presbyterian Church. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, one brother, John (Jack) Barnett and wife, Lois of Lower Burrell, two sisters: Jessie Bussard of Dayton and Patricia Lewis of Mesa, AZ. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Larry Eugene Miller, killed in the Korean Conflict in 1952 and 3 brothers: William, Veigh, and Bob Barnett. One sister, Dr. Madalene Barnett and a special friend, Helen Mateer. Viewing will be from 4 to 8pm on October 3 at the Carson/Boyer Funeral Home, Inc., Rural Valley. There will be an hour of viewing before the service on October 4 at 10am at the Dayton Glade Run Presbyterian Church with Pastor Sheila Wadding officiating with service to follow at 11am. Burial will be at Smicksburg Cemetery, Smicksburg, PA. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Orphans of the Storm in Kittanning, PA, Allegheny Valley Habitat for Humanity in Tarentum, PA or Heritage Hospice in Indiana, PA.
