Alzira V. Machado, 82, of Rural Valley, passed away on March 13, 2018 at UPMC Altoona Hospital.   

She was born on March 19, 1935 to Francisco and Maria de Jesus (Trovao) Vicente in Ribeirinha, Azores, Portugal.  Alzira was a homemaker whom enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren.  She loved to sew and bake. 

Alzira is survived by her two daughters - Filomena (Mark) Long of Bellwood, PA and Fatima (John) Kaluska of Madison, SD; two sons - Constantino Machado, Jr. of Charleroi, PA and Joe F. Machado of Rural Valley; 6 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and numerous brothers and sisters.  

She was preceded in death by husband - Constantino Machado, Sr., whom died Dec. 3, 2016, her parents, and numerous brothers and sisters. 

Visitation will be held Friday 12 - 2 PM at Carson/Boyer Funeral Home, Inc, 724 W. Main St. Rural Valley, PA. 

Blessing service will immediately follow at 2 PM from the funeral home with Fr. Medil S. Aseo officiating. 

Burial will take place in the St. Mary's R.C. Cemetery, Yatesboro.
