Ray G. Kimpel, 78, of Kittanning, passed away on May 7, 2012 in the Kittanning Care Center.

He was born on June 19, 1933 in Rockville, PA to John and Mabel (Schall) Kimpel. Ray worked as a Street and Rural Mail Carrier for the Ford City Post Office.

He was a Member and Past Commander - RV American Legion, Woodmen of the World, Masonic Lodge 244, Syria Shrine and New Castle Consistory.

Ray is survived by his wife of 52 years - Betty Lou (Cravener) Kimpel, Brother - John (Mary Ellen) Kimpel of Buena Vista, Colorado; sister - Leona (Ken) Geidel of Shandon, OH and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Jean VanDyke.

Visitation will be held Thursday, May 10, 2012 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm & Friday, May 11, 2012 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm & 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm at Carson/Boyer Funeral Home, Inc, 724 Main St. Rural Valley, PA.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 12, 2012, 11:00 am, with visitation held one hour prior, at the Salem (Hills) United Church of Christ, Kittanning, PA, with Pastor Todd Marino officiating.

Burial will take place in the Salem (Hills) United Church of Christ Cemetery.
