THOMAS FRANKLIN HUFF Thomas Franklin Huff, 87, was born August 20, 1929 in Jeannette, Pa to JJ and Marie (Melzner) Huff and passed away August 1, 2017 at the home of his daughter Shari (Dan) Fleming in DuBois, Pa. Tom lived in Tarentum, Pa until the 1940's when the family moved to the "family farm" in Dayton, Pa. He spent most of his adult life in Dayton, and after graduating from Dayton High School, he worked on the "family farm." He married Shirley J. Good in 1955 and they had 3 children. Tom or "Huffy" as he was affectionately called, had many wonderful traits and talents. He was a hard worker, having his hands in many ventures, including founding Huff Coal Company. He loved building things, especially trailers. He was also an avid horseman and participated in rodeos and horseshows. He was a wonderful and caring husband and the best father anyone could ask for, raising not only his 3 children, but serving as a father figure to several grandchildren, and it is thought of as "dad" by many. His love for his family was endless and his heart was precious. After retirement, Tom and Shirley moved to Okeechobee, FL, where they spent 19 years. There he enjoyed working in his shop, bow fishing from his airboat, and groundhog hunting on his return trips to PA. He is cherished by his family that he leaves behind - Shirley, his wife of 61 years, 3 children: Kim Kerr of Butler, PA, Thomas (Tawyna) Huff of Dayton, PA, and Shari (Dan) Fleming of Dubois, PA; 8 grandchildren - Kent, Kolby and Kameron Kerr, Tiffani (Bob) Stadtmiller, Brittani (Cory) Mumford, Steffani (Josh) Winslow, Brianne and Evan Fleming; 5 great-grandchildren - McKenzie and Trent Stadtmiller, Paisley and Piper Mumford, and Lean Puskarich. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, DeVota Huff. It's been a wonderful ride "you betcha" ALWAYS!!
