VERNON F. "BUD" GARNER

Vernon F. "Bud" Garner, 81, of Kittanning, passed away on April 15, 2017 at his residence.

He was born on September 9, 1935 to Ida Garner in Cowanshannock Twp. Vernon worked as a Truck Driver, over the road and local for Raymond Hayes Trucking. On March 22, 1958 he married Louella Stephens in Ravena, OH.

He was a member of Salem (Hills) United Church of Christ. His hobbies included; fishing, washers, playing cards, being a pool shark and being with his family. Bud was also a Marine Veteran.

Vernon is survived by his wife Louella; four daughters - Terri (Terry) Miller of Kittanning, Tammi (Tim) McCoy of Kittanning, Traci (Bill) McCullough of Kittanning and Connie (Pete) Serbin of Commodore; two sons - Vernon "Bucky" (Debra) Garner of Rural Valley and Donald (Lori) Garner of Chapin, SC; eight granddaughters - Amy (Scott) Moffit, Nikki McCoy, Sarah (Jeremiah) Myers, Brittanney (Andy) Barnett, Tiffanny (Tucker) Heckman, Kila Garner, Kari Garner, Cassi Garner; three grandsons - Jacob (Nicole) McCullough, Corey Trudgen and David Garner; 9 great-grandchildren, Cole, Brayden, Connor, Emma, Keely, Deanna, Carter, Parker and Tucker; and Sam, His Faithful Dachshund.

He was preceded in death by his Mother.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday April 19, 2017 from 4-6 PM at Salem (Hills) United Church of Christ. Funeral Services will immediately follow at 6PM with Pastor Todd Marino officiating.

Burial will take place in the Salem (Hills) United Church of Christ Cemetery with full military honors by the Armstrong Co. Honor Guard. Arrangements are entrusted to the Carson/Boyer Funeral Home, Inc., Rural Valley.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the charity on one's choice in Bud's honor.
