Esther Ruth Gamble, 75, of Dayton, passed away on June 8, 2018 at the Forbes Regional Hospital - Monroeville.

She was born on October 7, 1942 to Austin and Della Mae (Mogle) McDonald in Indiana County. Esther worked as a caregiver, retiring from Terrance Manor Personal Care Home. She was a member of Salem (Hills) United Church of Christ, where she was the Women's Circle Club President and Consistory member.

Esther is survived by her two sons - Dennis (Tammy) Gamble and Douglas (Kim) Gamble, both of Dayton; daughter - Connie (Gene) Craig of Dayton; step-son - John (Jeree) Gamble of FL; step-daughter - Thresa Weber of NY; 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; two brothers - Samuel (Gay) McDonald of Home, PA and Jim (Sue) McDonald of MD; and sister - Donna Reeger of Dayton.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband - Roy M. Gamble, who died Nov. 5, 1995; brother - William McDonald; step-sons - Butch and Frank Gamble, and 3 sisters - Ella Mae Waltz, Martha Blystone, and Eileen Bush.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 12, 2018, 10:00 am - 1:00 pm at Salem (Hills) United Church of Christ.

Funeral services will immediately follow at 1:00 pm with Pastor Todd Marino, officiating.

Burial will take place in the Smicksburg Methodist Cemetery.
