LEWIS GLENN COCHRAN

Lewis Glenn Cochran, 57, of Rural Valley, Plumcreek Twp., went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 10, 2010, at his residence.

The son of Glenn L. and Carriejune (Miller) Cochran, he was born June 5, 1952 in S. Mahoning Twp., Indiana Co. Friends and family as knew him as Lew. To his grandkids, he was affectionately called Boompa.

Mr. Cochran devoted his life to his family and friends. He was married for 33 years. He enjoyed racing a stock car as his hobby, as well as hunting and spending time with his grandkids. He was also a life member of the North America hunting club and National Rifle Association.

He was a member of the local 952 union hall where he was a laborer.

He was an active member of the Faith Baptist Church in Shelocta.

Lewis is survived by his wife, Betty J. (Peffer) Cochran, of Rural Valley; his daughter, Julie A. (Cochran) Lux and husband Joseph W., Jr of Rural Valley; his son, William L. Cochran of Rural Valley; his parents, Glenn L. and Carriejune (Miller) Cochran of Rural Valley; one Sister, Cora A. (Cochran) Myers and husband John E. of Sudlersville, MD; his two grandsons, Colton T. and Lance A. Lux; a number of nieces and nephews.

His grandparents Lewis and Cora Cochran and Clark and Alberta Miller preceded him in death.

Friends will be received at the Carson/Boyer Funeral Home, Inc., 724 Main St. Rural Valley, on Monday from 7-9 and on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9. His funeral service will be held at the Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at 11:00 with Rev. Arthur Lockard, Sr. officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Harkleroad Cemetery in Rural Valley.

In Lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the R.G. Laube Cancer Center, c/o Patient Care Fund, One Nolte Drive, Kittanning, PA 16201.
