ANNE CHOBODY Anne Chobody, 99 of NuMine, PA, died Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at her residence. She was born December 2, 1911 in Yatesboro, PA, Daughter of the late Daniel and Rosalia (Mehes) Makrancy. She was a member of the William Penn Assn., Charter member of CD of A, Court of St. Francis #1726, Charter member former Shannock Valley Catholic Ladies Club, enjoyed cooking, baking, made 150 afghans and was a former Miss Armstrong County. Surviving are 2 Sons - Dennis Chobody and wife Kathy of Kittanning and Joseph Chobody of NuMine; 4 Daughters - Viola Baculik and husband Jacob of Ford City, Sylvia Smith and her husband Ralph of Roanoke, VA, Mary Formaini and husband Eugene of Yatesboro and Kathleen Hughes and husband William of Camp Hill PA; 13 Grandchildren - Thomas, Jack, Kenneth, Alexander, Robbie, Rebecca, Mike, John, Kristine, Bill, Jennifer, Mike and Michelle; and 16 Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Alexander J. Chobody, whom died Dec. 3, 1994; 2 Sons- Alexander James and John Thomas Chobody; 3 Brothers - Stephen Makrancy, John and Joseph Nagy; 2 Sisters - Elizabeth Strozak and Mary Kovacs. Friends will be received 2-4 and 6-9, Friday, April 15 at the Carson/Boyer Funeral Home, Inc, 724 Main St. Rural Valley, PA. Mass will be held at St. Mary's R.C. Church, Saturday, April 16, 2011 at 10:00 AM with Fr. Daniel Blout officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Mary's R.C. Cemetery, Yatesboro, PA 16263. |
