Sylvia Violet Bohan, 82, of Pendleton, KY, passed away on August 1, 2018 at Baptist Health Hospital, LaGrange, KY.

She was born on March 11, 1936 to Matthew and Elizabeth (Bittman) Schweighardt in Mansfield, OH. Sylvia worked as a Homemaker/Artist. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in LaGrange, KY. Sylvia was a Red Cross Hospital Volunteer at Base Hospitals and was a member of Women of the Chapel.

Sylvia is survived by her husband - Walter Bohan, who she married Aug. 17, 1962; three sons - John S. (Fran) Bohan of Broken Arrow, OK, William R. Bohan of Fairbanks, AK; daughter - Catherine (Dennis) Caughey of Pendleton, KY; sister in law - Sara Schweighardt of Springhill, FL; nine grandchildren - Kendall E. Bohan, Evan M. Bohan, Philip J. Caughey, Jacob A. Caughey, Elizabeth Caughey Barnes, Zachary Q. Bohan, Casey X. Bohan, Danielle S. Bohan and Angela L. Bohan Lopez; and 4 great-grandchildren - Thomas Barnes, Marcus Lopez, Helen Barnes and Anthony Lopez.

She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter - Mary Theresa Piontek; grandson - Brian Piontek; and brother - Mathias Schweighardt.

Visitation will be held on Sunday August 5, 2018 from 7-9 PM at Carson/Boyer Funeral Home, Inc, 724 W. Main St. Rural Valley, PA.

Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, 10 AM from St. Mary, Mother of God Church in Yatesboro, with Rev. Douglas Dorula officiating. Everyone please meet at church.

Burial will take place in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies at 1:30 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans.
