Reatha V. Barrett, 92, of Dayton, passed away on July 27, 2017 at the Armstrong County Health Center.

She was born on May 27, 1925 to Walter and Mary (Peters) McElwain in Cowanshannock Twp., PA. She was a member of The Dayton First Church of God. She grew up on a farm in Rural Valley and then moved to Smicksburg. She organized many bus trips for the community. Reatha loved to volunteer, cook, sew and being a loving grandmother.

Reatha is survived by her 4 grandsons - Jason D. (Sarah) Barrett, Daniel M. (Megan) Barrett, Mike P. (Stephanie) Barrett and Scott C. Barrett; granddaughter - Amber N. Barrett; 9 Great Grandchildren; 2 daughter-in-laws - Janeen Barrett and Winafred Barrett; and several cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband - Roy Barrett, whom died 9/6/2016; and 3 sons - Duane Vay, Dalton Ray and Darl Jay Barrett.

Visitation will be held Sunday July 30, 2017 from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at Carson/Boyer Funeral Home, Inc, 724 W. Main St. Rural Valley, PA.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on July31, 2017 at the Dayton First Church of God with Pastor Kenneth Seidler officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church.

Burial will take place in the Salem (Hills) United Church of Christ Cemetery.
