TWILA MARCELINE ALWINE

Twila Marceline Alwine was welcomed into everlasting life on her 86th birthday, January 29, 2018. She passed away at the Premier Health and Rehabilitation Center in Kittanning, where she had been a resident for the past two and a half years.

Twila was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Ruth Fitzpatrick, and the wife of the late Ray S. Alwine. They were married for more than fifty years. Twila was the mother of Ed (Mary) Alwine, Kym (Jeff) Christy, Roger Alwine all of Rural Valley, and Troy (Tina) Alwine of Apollo.

Twila was the loving grandmother of Matthew (Carrie) Alwine, Angela (Jeremy) McMasters, Gina (Mark) Dorsey, Daniel (Melanie) Christy, Tawnee (Austen) Tanner, Laura Overly, and Taran (Chris) Carlisle. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Brian E. Alwine. She also was a loved and adored, G.G., to thirteen great-grandchildren.

She is survived by one brother, several sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends.

Twila had many different jobs during her lifetime, but her favorite was at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital as a nurse's aide. She was known by many for her famous peanut butter fudge. Twila loved baking cookies for special occasions and sharing recipes with friends. She attended First Lutheran Church of Rural Valley and the Rural Valley Senior Center. Twila also enjoyed attending bible study in the community.

In addition to her beloved husband, parents, and grandson, she was preceded in death by her brother, Martin (Porky) Fitzpatrick, and sister, Judy Fitzpatrick.

Visitation will be at Carson Boyer Funeral Home, 724 W. Main St. Rural Valley on Thursday, February 1, 2018 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. A celebration of Twila's life will be held on Friday, February 2, 2018 at 11:00 AM at First Lutheran Church in Rural Valley, with Pastor Stephen Bond and Messenger Ralph Kilgore officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to First Lutheran Church in her memory.
